Tallahassee – The Florida Supreme Court on Wednesday heard arguments in an attempt by suspended Central Florida prosecutor Monique Worrell to get her job back after Gov. Ron DeSantis ousted the Democrat this summer.

New thrift store promises to help church, community says St. Paul UMC pastor

There’s a new store on New Hope Road in Midway.
St. Paul United Methodist Church recently opened the New Hope Thrift Store, which is just southwest of the main church building and the preschool building. The thrift store is set to have an official grand opening in January but had a soft opening Tuesday, Dec. 5.

Last Saturday was a complete washout for many of the events scheduled across Northwest Florida with very heavy rain across the area, but all was not lost. The Merry Market went on as scheduled with a change of venue to get it out of the rain. The Navarre Christmas Parade, “Cheers to 50 years” was cancelled with no rain date scheduled. And the Navarre Jingle Bell Run was able to be rescheduled to this Saturday, Dec. 9 at 8 a.m. same location (Holley Navarre Fire District Station 45 behind McDonalds).

Most Americans know today is Pearl Harbor Day, that the attack precipitated the United States’ entry into World War II and that President Franklin D. Roosevelt, in condemning Japan’s aggression, called Dec. 7, 1941, “a date that shall live in infamy.”
