Rudman tells county he wants vote on Navarre incorporation

State Rep. Dr. Joel Rudman wants a non-binding referendum on the ballot in November regarding Navarre incorporation.

Rudman, who spoke during public forum at the July 8 meeting, said there are numerous ways for the pro-incorporation group, Preserve Navarre, to take a straw poll. However, he believes doing it on an official ballot is the fairest way to both sides.

FWC law enforcement, national groups talk ‘Operation Dry Water’

Rainy weather couldn’t stop the kickoff to Operation Dry Water at U.S. Coast Guard Station Destin on Wednesday, July 3.

Operation Dry Water, started in 2009, is a national initiative to increase awareness and enforce Boating Under the Influence laws. Each Fourth of July weekend, a heightened enforcement campaign is held. The goal of Operation Dry Water is to reduce the number of alcohol and drug-related boating incidents and fatalities.

Good news for Navarre. The Raider baseball and softball programs now have their coaches in place.


I’d like to think everyone is happy with the two who have been chosen to fill those roles, but this is high school sports we are talking about, so maybe not.
