Since 2005, Florida Sea Grant has worked with conservation partners in the Florida Panhandle to look for a rarely seen animal known as the diamondback terrapin. These creatures are a type of aquatic turtle which lives in brackish water and can be found in the salt marshes of bays and estuaries.

Marshall medals at state to cap stellar athletic career at Navarre

Terence Marshall spent a lot of time at practice the week leading up to the FHSAA 4A meet working on his starts in the 100-meter dash.
“Me and coach Hemi (Antenney Hemingway) worked that whole week. It was the only flaw I had,” Marshall said. “I worked on it, and it made a difference.”
Rare Kemp’s ridley rescued off pier

A rare and endangered Kemp’s ridley sea turtle was rescued off the Navarre Beach Fishing Pier at around 5:20 p.m. Friday evening. The turtle was severely wrapped in fishing line, towing a 6-foot fishing pole. The Navarre Beach Sea Turtle Conservation stranding team went into action to retrieve the turtle.
Rev. Billy Graham unveiled at U.S. Capitol

The Rev. Billy Graham, who died in 2018, stood tall as a prominent figure in American Christianity for most of the 20th century. Now, the famed faith leader and ordained Southern Baptist minister will stand even taller in the U.S. Capitol building. Approximately 7 ft. tall.
