The Navarre Beach Lifeguards recently celebrated the end of the fourth year of the Junior Lifeguard program. Throughout this summer, the Junior Lifeguard program saw 90 people, ages nine to 15, come to the beach for lessons on water safety, surfing skills and first aid.
Santa Rosa County has been approved for its own Veterans Treatment Court, a program with the mission of keeping veterans out of jail by providing one-on-one mentors and resources that help with issues such as mental health and substance abuse.

The Santa Rosa County Library System, with the help of the grants department, has been awarded a $100,000 grant to be used for a digital literacy program by the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO), Office of Broadband under the Digital Connectivity Program. The program will include the purchase of laptops for patron use and for a mobile computer lab.
The Grillehouse Steak & Seafood restaurant in Navarre will soon also be home to a nightclub. The restaurant’s owner, Clint Boutwell, announced the news on the Grillehouse’s Facebook page.
