Michael Carter went back to a familiar place for part of this NFL offseason, training and working out with former North Carolina teammate Javonte Williams in Chapel Hill.

It was a good experience for the Navarre alum, the kind of experience he needed after being waived by the New York Jets in November and landing with the Arizona Cardinals that same week.

The Navarre alum is headed into his final season with the Owls and was named an Athlon Sports preseason pick earlier this summer.

Navarre Raiders eager to take another big step forward as volleyball program

When Ryan Davenport took over the Navarre Raider volleyball program in 2018, the team had won only five matches the previous year.

Fast forward to 2024 and the program continues to rise, the Raiders coming off a third consecutive season of double-digit wins as well as back-to-back appearances in the regional tournament.

Beach restoration work to begin Nov. 27, last through January 2025

The long-awaited restoration of Navarre Beach, which was originally supposed to take place last year, is finally happening. According to Navarre Beach Fire Rescue District, the restoration project was awarded to Manson Construction at the bid price of $11,491,462.

Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office announced that it will be sending personnel and supplies to Lafayette County to assist in recovery efforts following Hurricane Debby’s landfall. The agency will be leaving the Sheriff’s Office at 2 p.m. today (Monday, Aug. 5).
