FPL seeks approval to collect storm costs

Tallahassee – Florida Power & Light customers likely will face increased monthly bills in 2025 after the utility on Oct. 29 requested approval to collect nearly $1.2 billion to cover costs of restoring power after hurricanes Debby, Helene and Milton and to replenish a storm reserve fund.

Navarre family builds haunted trail in backyard

One Navarre family is taking Halloween seriously, to the point of having a haunted trail in their backyard.

Jeff and Sharon O’Dell built the trail behind their home on Rosemont Drive. It weaves between terrifying corridors and features actors and other spooky details to scare those who dare to enter. The trail is open to the public on Oct. 30 and 31 from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Coastal Cowgirl, a Texas barbecue-inspired farm-to-table restaurant, recently opened in the former Copper Bull building at 7279 Navarre Parkway in Crown Center Plaza, which is also home to Bella Luna Italian Bistro and Iron Lady Fitness.
