Nine candidates to succeed Santa Rosa County Administrator Hunter Walker when he plans to retire at the end of the year have made the first cut by a selection panel.
Members of the Navarre Beach Area Chamber of Commerce Selection Committee have chosen Navarre resident Judy Morehead as its next CEO. According to her resume, Morehead has worked on numerous boards of directors throughout her career and has extensive experience with nonprofit organizations.
At the Oct. 5 Holley-Navarre Fire District Board Meeting, fire commissioner William Painter resigned his position effective immediately. He read a statement to the board members: “After much consideration and discussion with my family, I have decided to resign my position with the Holley-Navarre Fire District effective immediately.” The commissioners, though seemingly surprised by the move, thanked Painter for his time on the board and his contributions to the fire district. Without any further explanation, Painter excused himself from the meeting.

MILTON, FL – Joseph Joiner of Milton, FL celebrated his 2015 NeSmith Panhandle Challenge Series Championship with a win in the season finale on Saturday night at Southern Raceway driving the Three Trade Consultants Special. The victory was Joiner’s third of the season and gave him a season total of 663 points with 13 top five finishes and 14 top ten finishes in 14 races.
