Navarre mom named Outstanding Volunteer

With her numerous volunteer efforts, it’s obvious AJ Lautenslager loves working with students at Navarre High School. That enthusiasm paid off recently when she was named Outstanding Adult School Volunteer for the 2014-15 school year by Florida Department of Education Commissioner Pam Stewart.

Regional partners launch new Career Pathways initiative

Several key regional partners in Northwest Florida announced the launch of a new collaborative initiative designed to educate students, parents, teachers and administrators about the number of viable career opportunities and corresponding training located within the community. The campaign is reflective of collective impact between partners in education in an effort to meet the growing needs of business and industry.

It’s Girl Scout Cookie time! Troop #873 will have a “Cookie Drive-Thru” Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Centennial Bank. Go out and support the Girl Scouts and enjoy some delicious cookies.

School Board member to speak at leadership workshop

Santa Rosa School Board member Carol Boston will be a featured speaker Saturday, Feb. 28, at an interactive leadership workshop for women sponsored by the Institute for Women in Politics of Northwest Florida. The event will take place at 40 South Alcaniz St. in Pensacola in facilities provided by IHMC (Institute for Human and Machine Cognition) and will run from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
