Sleep apnea patients face serious risks if left untreated

Nothing feels better than a good night’s sleep.  Getting just the right amount of restful sleep can improve your judgment, your productivity levels and even put you in a better mood.  But a lack of sleep can result in daytime sleepiness, lower performance levels and even irritability.  Studies show that may only be the tip of the proverbial iceberg.  There is a growing consensus among the medical community that lack of sleep, or disturbed sleep, left untreated on a regular basis can lead to heart disease, respiratory conditions, high blood pressure, diabetes and even neurological disorders.  It may also put patients at a risk of premature death.

Out and About

We are introducing something new to the paper this week. We have a first-person story by our Copy Editor, Carmen Reynolds. This is in an effort to introduce our staff to our readers on subjects we think are of interest to you. People forget real people work at Navarre Press. We are human and have many of the same cares, interests and responsibilities as many of you. Your neighbors work here; our children went to or are attending the same schools; we worship together; play together; and we all care about Navarre and our community.

Same song, second verse?

This past Monday our county commissioners voted to enter employment negotiations with Tony Gomillion to replace long-time county administrator Hunter Walker.  Tony has been a department director with the county for 29 years, both as public services director and as environmental control director.

Do All Lives Matter?

During the last Democratic candidate debate a question was asked to all candidates. The question was do all lives matter or do just black lives matter? I was astonished by the answer. All candidates except one answered black lives matter. The only candidate who responded all lives matter is no longer in the race.
