Border-protection wall is presidential 

Today’s establishment Republican Party says it represents the party of Lincoln, Reagan and “We the People.” I say it doesn’t represent Reagan’s presidency because in Reagan’s Amnesty Immigration Bill, he signed it because it had border protection for our country in it. We got everything except the promised protection of our border.

After months of delays, families were able to move Friday into three of the 56 apartment homes that are now available at The Sound at Navarre Beach on U.S. Highway 98 in Navarre. One building is ready to be occupied and the welcome center is now staffed with a representative of Greystar, the management company.

Tough Mudder waffling on promotion promise

Would you like to round that up?  Firehouse Subs has been asking that question of customers since 2005 when they created the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation.  The organization’s mission is to provide funding, life-saving equipment and educational opportunities to first-responders and public safety organizations.  Through the nonprofit arm of the company, they have given more than $17 million toward public safety including more than $3.1 million in Florida.

11 flags memorialize the fallen

Six weeks ago, Gail Stangeland heard on the radio that the families of the 11 service members who perished in the Black Hawk crash on March 10, 2015, were coming to Navarre for a remembrance ceremony.  “I was passing by the makeshift memorial on the Navarre Causeway and it really bothered me,” Stangeland recounted.  “I knew the wives would be here and I wanted something for them.”
