Eglin’s testers deploy to Alaska’s NORTHERN EDGE

Eglin Air Force Base – Aircraft from the 53rd Wing and 96th Test Wing deployed for a two-week exercise in Alaska to test F-15 and F-16 systems in a realistic threat environment. 
The Operational Flight Program Combined Test Force teamed with a number of units across the 53rd WG and the 96th TW to execute F-15C, F-15E and F-16 flight tests from April 25 to May 13.

Invalid IDs for base access

Security Forces UPDATE 2:  Beginning June 7, anyone seeking access onto Eglin AFB using a state identification issued from Alaska, Kentucky, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Virginia or Washington will no longer be authorized access without providing an alternate identification credential.  Individuals who fall under this category who do not have alternate identification credentials may be escorted onto the installation.  For information regarding each states REAL ID status, please visit the website, or contact the base pass and registration section.

As you all are aware, Commissioner Rob Williamson removed the temporary Navarre Beach entrance sign (Hwy 98/Navarre Beach Causeway) under the cover of night on May 25. After being interviewed by Channel 3 News, he recorded and posted online his justification for his actions. The following is a breakdown of those comments, in part, followed by my own thoughts. I have attached the audio so each of you can listen for yourselves, and so there can be no accusation that I inaccurately wrote what he said.
