Being free, one is responsible for oneself and willing to take risk for the improvement of one’s condition. The benefits of being free allow people to advance and accomplish many things the slave will not accomplish nor experience.

Drive-thru rabies clinic

The Florida Department of Health in Santa Rosa County and Santa Rosa Animal Control will host a drive-thru rabies vaccination clinic for dogs and cats, Friday, Oct. 27.  The clinic will take place from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Animal Services facility, 4451 Pine Forest Road in Milton. 

Santa Rosa offers household waste Amnesty Day

Santa Rosa County will host Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Amnesty Day on Saturday, Oct. 14, from 8 a.m. to noon at the Santa Rosa County South Service Center, 5819 Gulf Breeze Parkway in Midway. This event offers residents the opportunity to dispose of HHW at no charge without having to drive to the Central Landfill in Milton.

County selects fishing pier operator

County Commissioners have selected Growing Santa Rosa Enterprises LLC to operate the Navarre Beach Fishing Pier. The company could take over pier fee collections and operation of a restaurant and gift shop as early as next month or as late as Jan. 1.
