Near-record numbers in election

Voters of Santa Rosa county turned out to vote in numbers not seen since the 2008 General Election, and before that you have to go all the way back to 1984 when the voter turnout was 70.28 percent of all registered voters.  In this 2016 election the percentage was 68.04. 

Shoreline setback could shorten for Santa Rosa

Discussion of shoreline setback regulations for Santa Rosa County by the Zoning Board Thursday, Nov. 10 may result in changes to the law regarding the 50-foot regulation to limit just how far construction can encroach toward the water.

Wolfe Creek Forest acreage acquired for preservation

The Trust for Public Land today announced that 626 acres of Wolfe Creek Forest has been acquired and added to the Blackwater River State Forest. The acquired property includes frontage on Big Coldwater Creek, which is widely used for kayaking, tubing, and canoeing by community members. It also includes a spring-fed state paddling trail beloved by area paddlers and birdwatchers. 

Navarre Beach developers make their case
