Tallahassee – U.S. travelers continue to bolster Florida’s tourism industry, while the state hopes to make up for a decline in Canadian visitors by drawing people from other countries.

Due to field issues at Bennett C. Russell Stadium, the Raiders’ game against Pensacola Catholic on Friday is set to be played at Gulf Breeze. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
This July, state officials, hunters and curious citizens made their way to the Florida Ever-glades to remove invasive pythons from the region.
The 2025 Florida Python Challenge, in its 12th year, took place over 10 days and tasked par-ticipants with removing as many members of the invasive species as they could. Winners were determined by how many pythons were removed and their size.
Levin Papantonio Law Firm, based in Pensacola, has filed a lawsuit against the Santa Rosa County School Board, alleging the district’s negligence directly led to the assault of a minor students in the boys’ locker room at Gulf Breeze High School.
The assault occurred March 14, 2024. For the purposes of protecting the victim’s identity, they refer to her as S.A.C.

A few years ago, our sports reporter, Brian Lester, went from covering one high school to making sure we have coverage for eight high schools. That is a huge leap in coverage. Thankfully, we have had help from high school yearbook staff and others that want to get on the field and courts and report on the games. Brian has done a phenomenal job. Actions have consequences, and so does inactions, especially when the inaction is an extraordinary number of state residents who do not complete their census survey. We count every person because every person counts.
