Pain, suffering still lingers 15 years after 9/11

None of us can ever forget where we were on that fateful day, the indelible images burned in our minds. Sept. 11, 2016 is the 15th anniversary of 9/11, the most cataclysmic terrorist attack on American soil, resulting in the loss of 2,996 lives, and injuring more than 6,000 others.

Beauchemin enters plea for 15 years

According to the State Attorney’s office, on Sept. 5 Joel Anthony Beauchemin entered a plea to Robbery without a Weapon for 15 years in state prison before Judge Ross Goodman in Santa Rosa County.

National Park Service turns 100

Steve McCoy has been with the National Park Service for 32 years, working everywhere from Alaska to the Everglades. His last four years have been spent at Gulf Islands National Seashore as the deputy superintendent and he was on hand at Naval Live Oaks Thursday for NPS’ centennial celebration.

Greater, greatest, grow up

Where are the adults in Navarre?  Just in the past few weeks we have seen childish, immature and bad behavior from many different areas.  One of the most senseless acts is Tony Alexander, a disgruntled ex-employee of the Navarre Beach Area Chamber of Commerce seeking to open a new “greater” chamber of commerce.  It can only be concluded that he seeks to harm the chamber that has been established for 41 years.
