She had a lot of success her senior season at Life, including earning NAIA All-American honors, and that inspired her to play beyond college.

On Aug. 10, 2024, the Santa Rosa County racing community lost a beloved figure. That day, James Fox, 33, of DeFuniak Springs, suffered a medical emergency during a race at Southern Raceway in Milton. His car crashed into the concrete wall and fence that surrounded the track.

A star defender with the Orlando Pride, Sams has been called up to play in a few friendlies with the team, which is in action for the first time since winning a gold medal in Paris this summer.

Walgreens is planning to close around 1,200 locations, as the drugstore chain and its rivals struggle to define their role for U.S. shoppers who no longer look to them first for convenience.

Drugstores that once snapped up prime retail space in towns and cities across the country are in retreat. They’ve been battered by shrinking prescription reimbursement, persistent theft, rising costs and consumers who have strayed to online retailers or competitors with better prices.

Give the Florida High School Athletic Association a little credit. At least it didn’t wait until a third major hurricane hit the state to make changes to the football schedule.


Last Monday, a press conference was held to announce that the regular season was going to be extended by a week to allow for extra time to get all the games in that might have been impacted by the hurricanes.
