Nadia Rivera wasn’t always a catcher. She didn’t really like the position when she was younger and played third instead.


But around the time she started playing travel softball, she moved behind the plate.

She’s thankful for the chance to play the game at the next level after dealing with challenges during her high school career.

Cailyn Cooke put together an impressive sophomore softball season at Gulf Coast State, earning all-region and all-state honors as one of the top hitters at the junior college level.


Now, the former Navarre Raider is taking her talents to NCAA Division II Valdosta State, which plays in the highly competitive Gulf South Conference.
