Since the ninth century, Christian pilgrims have journeyed along a network of paths across France, Portugal and Spain to visit the shrine of the apostle James in the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela in Galicia, Spain.

The pilgrimage, known as the Way of St. James or Camino Santiago, encompasses hundreds of miles of trails through cities and countryside. According to some scholars and historians, it is also the route James the greater took into Spain, where he preached the gospel. He is said to have been buried in Santiago de Compostela.

RV resort planned for Highway 98 near Woodlawn Beach

A new RV resort is being planned for the south side of Highway 98, along Woodhaven Lane.

Ayana RV Resort, which sits on a 3.51-acre lot, will feature 31 RV pads, a 3,278 square-foot office building, a pool and deck, two stormwater ponds and fencing around the property. There are also plans for five live oak trees to be on the property, according to the site plans.
