Fall brings festivities, pumpkin patches to local churches

With Autumn upon us, there are many fall festivities going on in the Navarre community. Local churches are getting in on the fall fun too with pumpkin patches and fall festivals.
Several pumpkin patches have been in operation since the first week of October, with Navarre First Assembly of God and St. Paul’s United Methodist Church being two of the churches in the area which have them.

Homemakers Holiday Fair in Milton Saturday

The 41st Annual Homemakers Holiday Fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sat., Oct. 1 at the Santa Rosa County Auditorium, 4530 Spikes Way in Milton. There is no admission fee for this event.
The Homemakers Holiday Fair features crafts made by local artisans, homemade soup, sandwiches and desserts, and door prizes. Tickets will be available for purchase to win a queen-size handmade quilt. For more information, contact the University of Florida-Santa Rosa County Cooperative Extension Service-IFAS at 850-623-3868, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. weekdays
Extra work fuels Lily-ana Campbell’s success

Lily-ana Campbell was driven to be her best for Saturday’s Wildcat Invitational at the Pensacola State Milton Campus.
“I busted my butt during practice this week,” Campbell said. “The past few weeks it was tough getting going, but this week I was just able to go hard.”
SRC Commission to meet at 5 p.m. today

The Santa Rosa County Board of County Commissioners will hold its committee meeting at 5 p.m. today, Monday, Sept. 19.
To accommodate residents who can’t attend morning meetings because of school or work, the commission will hold its second committee meeting each month (on the third Monday) at 5 p.m.
The commission meets in the county’s office complex at 6495 Caroline St. in Milton.
