Area track athletes shine at Wildcat Invitational

Area athletes took to the track for the first big meet of March, competing in Pensacola Saturday at the Steve Garst Wildcat Invitational at Washington. Several athletes placed in the top 10 in their respective events. Ameer Rustom of Navarre won the javelin with a school-record throw of 174-feet-2-inches. He also won the shot put (45-04).

Courtney Benaquis has been with the Navarre girls lacrosse program since its inaugural season. A friend asked if she wanted to be a part of it their freshman year in 2020.

Navarre Presbyterian celebrates 25th anniversary

In 1998, Navarre welcomed a presbyterian church to the area. Navarre Presbyterian Church is still going strong 25 years later. In honor of that 25th anniversary, Navarre Presbyterian hosted a special luncheon after their Sunday service to recall good times and good fellowship.

Tied at 28-28 and a younger lineup on the floor, Navarre’s girls basketball team put its depth on display in an opening-round battle against Keystone Heights in the Navarre Beach Holiday Classic Tuesday night. Unfazed by the adversity starting them in the eyes, the Raiders rose to the challenge.

Navarre girls soccer team comes up short against Eagles

It is as if Navarre’s girls soccer team is stuck in a repeat cycle when it comes to game day. The Raiders play hard and are within striking distance of victory, but mistakes prove costly in the end. That was the case Tuesday night as the Raiders fell 2-1 to Niceville at Bennett C. Russell Stadium.
