County going somewhere bad in a handbasket
I see where in the Navarre Press of 1/20-26/2022 the Santa Rosa County “Zoning Board” is doing what the (Censored) in the “South Santa Rosa (Navarre) County want to do.
In effect they are “Killing the Goose that Laid the Golden Egg.”
Republican vs Democrat
The current divide in American politics is clear to anyone who pays attention to the prevailing political narratives that change as frequently as the tides.
If we can’t build a park, we can’t run a city
I drive by the Navarre Park construction area 4-8 times per day between 8 and 5 weekdays since the project began.
Listen to the citizens: No more dollar stores
WHY do we need another Dollar General/ Store??
And on an already busy residential road, East Bay Blvd/Hwy 399?
Disgusted by both political parties
I am thoroughly disgusted by both of the major political parties in the United States of America.
Since 2008, they both have been locked in a battle for domestic power that has significantly weakened our dominance in the rest of the world.
Thanks to Santa Rosa for helping save animals
There is a lot to celebrate as we finalized the comparison data for 2021. There’s a lot I will unpack for you here…

House Bill 1035 is dangerous and unnecessary legislation
House Bill 1035, sponsored by Representative Jayer Williamson, needs to be defeated. It is merely a thinly veiled attempt to hamstring an aggrieved community’s ability to exercise the right of home rule.
Communities need this when the other means of redress have failed to achieve what many in the community feel is inequitable governance.
Let Butterfly House fly free
My name is Sally Menk, and I was with Jack Wetherell when he started the Navarre Panhandle Butterfly House in 1997. I volunteered there in Navarre every year until they tore it down!
Thanks to Navarre Press staff
Just a little thank you to all the staff at Navarre Press for the continued balanced and timely reporting on our local news.
Okaloosa-Santa Rosa needs true green transportation
Happy New Years!
We keep being told “be more green, conserve energy, reduce CO2, stop using fossil fuels etc.” We’re told the solution, in transportation, is to go electric. I disagree! The most green is the 100+ year old super affordable Bicycle.
