Country Gym Bar & Grill to open soon in Milton

Joe Dunne and Tony Thomas are hoping for a workout boom in Milton.

“The name really started as a joke,” Dunne said of The Country Gym Bar & Grill, opening soon at 5198 Willing St. “If somebody’s wife is calling to find out why he isn’t home, he can tell her ‘Baby, I’m at the gym.’ We’ve even bought novelty glasses shaped like barbells.”

State eyes shift on property insurer ratings

Angry at a ratings agency that raised the possibility of downgrading 17 Florida property insurers, state leaders could be poised to look for an alternative.

The Joint Legislative Budget Commission next week is expected to consider a proposal to spend $1.5 million to hire a consultant that would look at options for property insurers to get adequate financial ratings.

Florida supply chain issues still linger well into 2022

Eglin Federal Credit Union to add Gulf Breeze location

Eglin Federal Credit Union recently announced it will start developing a property located on the corner of Tiger Lake Drive and Highway 98 in Gulf Breeze. The short term plan is to install two drive-thru ATM/Video Tellers in 2023.

According to a press release from Eglin Federal Credit Union, this will look similar to the drive-thrus currently being constructed near Niceville High School as well as the site at Jonquil Avenue NW and Mary Esther Cutoff NW in Fort Walton Beach, and the recently announced location in DeFuniak Springs. Construction of a full-service branch in Gulf Breeze is expected to begin in 2024.

Perfect Blend cuts ribbon for new coffee trailer

The Navarre Beach Area Chamber of Commerce came out to support the ribbon cutting for Perfect Blend Coffee Company’s new mobile coffee trailer July 21. The trailer is parked in front of St. Michael’s Brewery from 7-11 a.m. on weekdays and 8 a.m. to noon on Saturdays.

Tractor Supply to open in September

There are many developments going up in Navarre and the south end of the county. From new stores to new apartments and a water system project years in the making Navarre is expanding. One of the projects with the most impact is the Eglin RIBs Project. Holley-Navarre Water System and Santa Rosa County are working together on the project, which will carry treated wastewater, or effluent, to a site on Eglin.

Two new restaurants coming to Milton

Branch Properties, an Atlanta based real estate investment and development firm, announced two restaurants have joined Merganser Commons at Dogwood Estates, a Publix Super Markets-anchored development in Milton.
