Sertoma Fishing Rodeo set for next weekend
The 35th edition of it takes place June 7-8 at South Shoreline Park in Gulf Breeze.

The rodeo is SERTOMA’s only major fundraiser of the year, with 100% of the net proceeds going to the Escambia and Santa Rosa communities for youth charities and educational projects.
This year the rodeo features 17 Master Angler fish categories and 19 Junior Angler fish categories.
Winners in each category will receive Skip Tanner hand hammered copper award trophies.
There will also be an award for red, white and blue fish combination as well as for the largest fish.
The top Master and Junior anglers will receive special awards. Bere Jewelers and Reed Jewelers are donating those awards.
Youth anglers are encouraged to fish from wherever they can, with many of the awards in the past going to anglers who have caught fish off piers.
Free fishing entry rodeo tickets are available from more than 10 local sponsors as well as at Gulf Breeze Bait and Tackle in Gulf Breeze and Half Hitch Bait and Tackle in Navarre.
The code number on the free tickets must be registered online at FishingChaos.com before midnight on June 6.
Familyfishingrodeo.com and FishingChaos.com also offer details on sponsors, awards and fishing rodeo categories.
The event will also feature a Santa Rosa County Animal Services Tent, offering pet adoptions. There will also be a youth fishing clinic and a raffle featuring a large Green Egg and Blackstone Grill. A silent auction with more than $4,000 worth of merchandise and gift cards will also take place.
Refreshments will be available as well, including fish plates, hamburgers and hot dogs.
Donations are gladly being accepted for food and drinks.
The rodeo site opens at Noon each day, with weigh-ins taking place between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m.
