The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission has cited two separate owners of derelict sailboats currently located in Santa Rosa Sound near Juana’s Pagodas.
Volunteer Florida announced the approval of a FEMA grant for more than $905,000 to provide disaster case management services and assist victims of the spring 2014 flooding in the Florida Panhandle. The grant will fund disaster case managers in Santa Rosa, Okaloosa, Walton and Escambia counties who will work with panhandle residents to identify needs, develop recovery plans and navigate requirements for assistance.
A local faith-based prison ministry is helping inmates at several area prisons change their lives in anticipation of their return to society. The dual-purpose program provides factual information about alcohol and drug dependency with faith-based support to overcome addiction.
