When Jeremy Wheatman died sometime before 4:49 Sunday afternoon, it was fitting that his pastor was one of the first Navarre people to hear the news. John Kerns, pastor of Navarre Beachside Church, holds regular services at Navarre Beach, where Jeremy frequently hung out.

Jeremy, who was homeless, would listen from the fringes to the sermon.
