New Navarre coffee shop set to open soon

Navarre’s newest coffee shop, Perfect Blend Coffee Company, which will employ teenagers and adults with disabilities, is set to open in a couple short weeks.

Construction started about a year ago on the north end of Harvest Village Plaza. The grand opening is set for July 12 from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The Gulfarium’s C.A.R.E. Center successfully released six rehabilitated sea turtles on Thursday morning at Henderson Beach State Park in Destin, according to a Gulfarium press release.

As a grieving Kentucky family prepares to bury their 5-year-old son, Navarre residents continue to keep them in their thoughts and prayers. Zaten Gabriel Clark, son of Travis and Christina Clark, died Saturday night after he fell from the play structure at a floating water park and drowned.

Services will be held at Smith Funeral Home in Morgantown, Kentucky, one week to the day that Zaten died. He was pulled from the Santa Rosa Sound by Holley-Navarre Fire District rescuers just before 7:30 p.m., which was less than 20 minutes after they were first notified.

Solution proposed for clogged Navarre Beach access parking

After bed tax numbers in April nearly doubled those in 2018-2019, parking lots along Gulf Boulevard are at a premium.

“We are at capacity right now on Navarre Beach,” Tourist Development Director Julie White said. “So, this destination is doing extremely well.”

Davion Hardy caught a pass near the sideline early in the opening quarter and made a move for a few extra yards, giving Navarre a first down in its spring game against Milton Friday night at Bennett C. Russell Stadium.

It was one of several big plays the rising senior tight end made against the Panthers on a night where he was hyped up about facing an actual opponent on the field after three weeks of practice.
