Attendance doubles at annual Spooktacular

One by one, miniature versions of pirates, Capt. America and Super Girl made their way in to the fifth annual Science Spooktacular by the Sea Friday evening at the Navarre Beach Marine Science Station.

Beach park repairs drifting upward

The cost to maintain Navarre Beach facilities were up this year due to the winter freeze and the need to rebuild three lifeguard stands due to high winds. Pier restrooms were also renovated bringing the 2013-2014 season’s current expenses to $59,702. That number is up $25,106 from last year and $32,579 from two years ago.

Citizens to Incorporate Navarre hosted West Florida Regional Planning Council (WFRPC) staff for a discussion about Navarre area transportation issues Oct. 21. Attendees learned details about specific local projects and advocated for traffic congestion on U.S. 98.
