Social Media Scavenger hunt teaches teens about dating violence

Shelter House and Project Respect kicked off Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month by hosting Quest 4 Respect, a social media scavenger hunt for teens. Dozens of young people dashed around Destin Commons Feb. 3 snapping pictures on Instagram. The pictures were based on clues that carried messages about healthy relationships and warning signs for unsafe relationships.

Highway 98’s changing face

Two more commercial developments have received development orders along U.S. Hwy. 98, a Walmart Neighborhood Market and Navarre Gardens Assisted Living Facility, furthering a trend of growth in business along the corridor.

Out and About

We have a busy two weeks ahead of us. There is the Mardi Gras Ball Saturday night and the parade Saturday, Feb. 18. I don’t want to jinx it – but the parade has never been rained on. I believe there have been sprinkles – but not an all and out down pour.
