Bearded dragons, or beardies as they are affectionately called, are a laid back, hardy, easy to care for lizard that make the perfect reptilian pet for adults and children alike. The lizard is originally from Australia, although now all beardies purchased in the United States are captive bred. Australia banned the export of the lizards many years ago.

Navarre High School student Savannah West wanted to go the extra mile during Love is Louder Week, a week started in 2010 that highlights the fact that love and support is more powerful than external and internal voices that cause pain and feelings of hopelessness.
At around 6:15 p.m. Monday evening a line of severe thunderstorms steamrolled through Navarre leaving power outages, trees down and other damage in its wake. The storm began in southeast Mississippi and traveled through Alabama and into the Florida panhandle. Earlier in the day, the storm was responsible for spawning the only confirmed tornado in the area that left major damage in Century, Fla., just west of Jay. Preliminary indications from Escambia County are that an estimated 40-50 homes and businesses were affected by that storm and only minor injuries were reported. The Red Cross is on scene for assistance at the Century Community Center on Industrial Boulevard.
The data for last year’s real estate sales and transactions have been released for 2015, and the news looks good for Santa Rosa County. According to these numbers supplied by the Clerk of Court public records, the county as a whole this past year saw total sales for property exceeding $1 billion. This historic high for real estate sales set an all-time record for the county, boasting total sales of about $1,016,353,862. With steady housing market increases year-to-year averaging 14.8 percent (2012-2015), Santa Rosa County citizens can only hope this trend continues, bringing new growth, families and economic opportunity to the local area.
