Santa Rosa County did not disappoint at the 3A state boys weightlifting meet Friday afternoon at the RP Funding Center in Lakeland.


Pace claimed the Olympic and traditional titles, while Milton was the state runner-up in Olympic and traditional. Navarre earned a share of the traditional title as well.

Navarre’s flag football team won its regional tournament opener in impressive fashion and set a record for wins in a season with the 39-6 victory over Forest Thursday night at Bennett C Russell Stadium.

As the Navarre Raider flag football team walked off the field late last Thursday night, the sting of defeat cutting deep, it couldn’t help but notice the celebration going on behind it.


Pace was enveloped in joy, celebrating its 19-0 victory over the Raiders in the District 1-2A championship game at Bennett C Russell Stadium.

With a runner on base and two outs, Navarre’s baseball team was on the cusp of perhaps piecing together a seventh-inning rally last Monday night.


The Raiders had just scored one run on a ground out by Bo Shipley, cutting the Pace lead to two, but couldn’t deliver the clutch hits when they needed them most to keep hope for a win alive.

Jayln Gantt is new to Navarre. He moved here from Georgia before the school year and has quickly settled in as a solid runner for the Raiders.

Navarre’s girls and boys tennis teams will compete in the District 1-3A tournament April 16-17 at Shoreline Park in Gulf Breeze.
