Beach restoration crews busy elsewhere

The $15 million dredge-and-fill restoration of Navarre Beach planned to begin around April 1 could be postponed for months because the equipment and crews are behind schedule on similar projects in Delaware and Sarasota counties.

Plane crash claims life of local doctor

James Shumbert and Dr. Sheryl Roe were killed Feb. 11 when a small plane they were in crashed into the Gulf of Mexico off of Henderson Beach in Destin.  The couple was flying in from Texas to celebrate Valentine’s day on the Emerald Coast.

Tonight (Thursday) is the Girls’ Basketball Regional Quarter Finals and they are being held at Navarre High School. When they win…they will play Tuesday either Niceville or Lincoln, depending on the outcome of their games tonight. If for some reason the unforeseen happens – then they will have had a great season otherwise.
