This weekend two major events are taking place at the beach – The Navarre Beach Sand Sculpting Festival and Navarre Beach Fishing Rodeo. Those events are serving as a prelude to a monthlong celebration of the best October venues Santa Rosa has to offer during the 2014 Beaches to Woodlands Tour.
There’s refreshing news for users of the fitness trail on Navarre Beach. The Beach Beautification Committee is planning to install three water fountains and lighting along the popular multiuse path which parallels Gulf Boulevard. The group also plans to pursue irrigating the route with reclaimed water.

One of the issues in front of voters in Santa Rosa County for the November general election is to decide if a proposed county-wide one cent local option sales tax should be adopted to fund a new judicial center. The option would increase sales tax by one percent, and if approved, would be limited to five years, beginning on Jan. 1, 2015 and ending at midnight on Dec. 31, 2019.
