Council on Aging shifts to online fundraiser this year

As the Council on Aging continues to provide more programs and services for senior citizens in need in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties, it is doing so with less income and donations. That is partly due to the impact COVID-19 has had on holding fundraisers in person.

Successful financial planning starts young

High schoolers who have a credit card will graduate with an average debt of $1,585, according to research by student loan provider Sallie Mae. The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development found that 60 percent of 15-year-old Americans are not financially literate on the basics of handling money.
