Raider swim team competes at regional meet

Chase Jennings turned in the best finish of the 3A regional meet for the Navarre Raiders, placing in the top 10 place in the 50 Freestyle.

The senior standout clocked in with a time of 22.67 as he made the most of his opportunity at Wednesday’s meet at the Florida Aquatics Swimming and Training Center in Ocala.

Pride, a playoff berth and a district championship are all on the line tonight when Navarre and Gulf Breeze square off in the Beach Bowl.

Game time is 7:30 p.m. in Gulf Breeze and the Raiders will be seeking revenge and their first district title since 2018.

Debate turns to town hall at District 4 County Commissioner election event

On Sun., Oct. 23, Ye Olde Brothers Brewery hosted what was billed as a debate between incumbent District 4 County Commissioner Dave Piech and his challenger in the race, Ray Eddington.

The ‘debate’ quickly turned into a town hall style campaign event for Piech, as Eddington didn’t attend. In an Oct. 22 post on his campaign page on Facebook, Eddington gave the reason for his absence.

A HOPE delivers spay/neuter services with help of grant

A HOPE, an animal welfare nonprofit organization in Santa Rosa County, is holding a“Spay it, don’t spray it” campaign over the next year. The campaign, which is funded through a $20,000 grant from Florida Animal Friend, provides spay and neuter services for both owned and unowned cats within Santa Rosa County.
