Out and About

July is here and as I’m writing this – the fourth is tomorrow.

By the time you receive this, July 4, 2023, will be a two-day-old memory. However, I have some trivia for you to use next year. These are referenced from a “Good Housekeeping” article, but double checked with personal comments by yours truly.

Praying for the Titan families

On 21 June, at 3 p.m., my prayer pal and I were compelled to pray for the Titan to be found. Why?

Because we know that God is omniscient. He performs miracles daily! This time we prayed for an unusual miracle in light of the two recent ones, i.e., the four children found in the jungle after 40 days and the scary one of the two men sucked through the drain under the ground emerging alive on the other side.

Commissioners should approve Jubilee

It’s the most resilient project ever in Santa Rosa County and it has been in the making for 20 years.

If you ask yourself why the developers of Jubilee don’t give up it is because it is a project that could change the economic landscape of Pace and it a property they have invested in for 20 years.

Local aviator celebrates 30 years as air boss of the 2023 Pensacola Beach Air Show

The Santa Rosa Island Authority is thrilled to announce that local naval aviator and retired Marine Corps Major Paul Entrekin is celebrating his 30th season as Air Boss of the Pensacola Beach Air Show this year.

Have you ever wondered who controls the schedule for all the aerial acts, mass formations, high-speed jet demonstrations and pyrotechnics at every show? Enter the Air Boss.

As the Air Boss, Entrekin has the primary responsibility for coordinating all air show operations within the demonstration area and plays a critical role in ensuring a safe, efficient and entertaining air show every year. All of this while also meeting the latest standard air show regulations.

Ryan Miller knows something about serving his community.

He works in the field of security systems, where customer service is key, and he also serves as a volunteer firefighter with Harold VFD. Miller is currently the leader of RM Integrations, which he and a partner founded in 2014.

For God’s Sake: Trust in Him

These days, there seems to be a credulity gap between what people say and what they do.

The credulity gap to which I am referring is when a person or an institution champions an ideal but acts in a manner contrary to it. The technical term for this credulity gap is “an issue of plausibility.”

Kicking it with Risen Savior

During the summer, churches typically send out volunteers on mission trips to places like Central America or Africa. For Risen Savior Lutheran Church in Navarre, they became the destination.

The church welcomed seven teenagers and two chaperones from Wisconsin Lutheran High School in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Saturday, June 24.

Brian Out Loud

I really could have written this column with one emoji. You know the one where the person has the hand slapping the face.

That really would have covered all you need to know about the district set up for cross-country for the teams in this area.
