Raider baseball team falls short against Eagles

Facing a four-run deficit after two innings, Navarre’s baseball team battled back and nearly came up with a season-opening win over Niceville last Tuesday night.

The Raiders got within two runs in the bottom of the fifth inning, but the Eagles answered in the top of the seventh and then held off a final-inning rally as Navarre lost 6-3.

Navarre Raider softball team rallies to knock off Choctaw

Hope was fading for Navarre’s softball team, the Raiders down to six outs to make something happen against Choctaw in its season opener Tuesday night.

It was in the bottom of the sixth inning when Navarre came to life offensively, scoring four runs.

Navarre man arrested for sexually abusing minor

A Navarre man is behind bars after he allegedly sexually abused a girl over a period of several years.

Robert Jason Love, 51, of the 2600 block of Salamanca St., is charged with sexual battery on a minor. The arrest report filed by the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office indicates abuse took place between 2009 and 2020.

An incredible weightlifting season for Izzy Zach

Izzy Zach didn’t make it to the podium at the 3A state weightlifting meet a year ago. But oh what a difference a year makes for one of Navarre’s standout lifters.

Zach sat on the floor of the RP Funding Center in Lakeland Friday during the awards ceremony, wearing a medal around her neck and a smile on her face, savoring the thrill of being a state champion for the first time.

Santa Rosa County Development Services held their first public meeting regarding plans for a Navarre Community Access Road, which if built, will run from Panhandle Trail to Edgewood Drive. The road is being billed as an alternative to Highway 98.
