All the work weightlifting athletes from Santa Rosa County have put in this season reaches a culmination Saturday at the FHSAA state meet in Lakeland.


Action for 1A and 3A lifters gets underway at 9 a.m. EST at the RP Funding Center in Lakeland.

Garrett Gilbert has been playing his senior baseball season in a new state.


Moving from Texas, Gilbert is in his first year at Navarre and has settled in nicely and has been one of the top hitters on the team.

The day before Navarre’s regular season finale in baseball, First-year Raider head coach John Crossley talked about how this team battles no matter what.


“They are still battling. Still fighting,” Crossley said. “The guys have not given up on themselves or me. It’s been good to see.”

Jaden Colabine stood in the front of the goal that he defended to near perfection as his teammates came rushing to him to celebrate a big win.


This was a special night for the Raider boys lacrosse team, which won a tournament game for the first time in program history, dominating Milton 13-1 Wednesday night in a District 1-2A quarterfinal.
