When I first came to Navarre in June of 1993, I was pregnant with our daughter, Claire. John was in Albuquerque, New Mexico receiving training and I moved us from Fort Worth, Texas to Navarre.

Sea turtle nesting season is back on Navarre Beach

All is quiet on Navarre Beach, for now.

The four mile stretch of sand, laden with condos, beach equipment and people, is also home to sea turtle eggs each summer and early fall. Beginning May 1 and running through the end of October, sea turtles, namely Loggerheads, scoot up on Navarre Beach to lay their nests. This year’s season has started without any action.

“It was a long journey and a lot of hard work was put into it,” Chin said. “We were very blessed to go to state and come in the position that we did.”
