Women with breast cancer who have high levels of vitamin D in their blood have significantly higher survival rates than women with low levels, according to researchers who analyzed five studies with thousands of patients.

Chemotherapy is one of the most dreaded aspects of breast cancer treatment, but according to a new study, there might be a way to treat some women without chemo. An article published by “The New England Journal of Medicine,” suggests that women with a “low risk score” may receive hormone-blocking treatment instead of chemotherapy.

A recent study conducted by the Rush University Medical Center, Chicago, found that lowering a person’s target blood pressure could be lifesaving. High blood pressure was defined as a systolic pressure of 140mmHg (millimeter of mercury) or greater, and the heart produces systolic pressure when it contracts. However, the study suggests that the target should be lower.
