Tallahassee Fla.—Attorney General Pam Bondi today announced a $4 million multistate settlement with United Parcel Service, Inc., the world’s largest package delivery company, resolving allegations that its employees violated the false claims acts of 14 states, Chicago, New York City, and the District of Columbia by overcharging governmental customers on certain transactions.

A 5-year old Oriole Beach Elementary kindergartner has died from an unconfirmed case of viral meningitis.  The school principal, Joshua McGrew, issued a letter to all parents of students in an effort to reassure them of their children’s safety.

Pensacola, Fla. — The Navy’s Flight Demonstration Squadron, the Blue Angels, will close the 2015 season at their annual Homecoming Air Show aboard Naval Air Station Pensacola on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 6-7.

Every Navarre citizen has driven on U.S. Highway 98 at one time or another. Its traffic in recent times due to construction has been a source of frustration; but its existence provides convenient transportation for everyone. More importantly, Highway 98 is a vital artery of revenue for Navarre and the surrounding cities. Each year, Highway 98 brings millions of dollars in business, tourist revenue, goods and services to Navarre. Without this highway, the development of Navarre would hardly have progressed to the state that it exists in to this day. While the actual Highway 98 came into existence in the 1930s, this important route along the coast of Northwest Florida may have been around much longer.

The pilots of a Black Hawk military helicopter that crashed last March, killing all 11 service members aboard, had disobeyed direct orders by flying into worsening weather, according to an investigation report.
