People are predictable. When they have something to hide, they immediately start to withhold information. If people lived their lives in such a way that they didn’t have to look over their shoulders – then they wouldn’t have to worry about what people know and don’t know. And, if people who know there are secretive things going on would bring it to light – then justice can be served. And justice is a good thing.
