On June 24, Gulf Breeze Hospital will celebrate 30 years of service to the community. The hospital opened in 1985 offering, for the first time in Gulf Breeze, convenient access to state-of-the-art medical care. Since its opening, the hospital has doubled in size.
A full military honors funeral service honoring the ninth Chief Master Sgt. of the Air Force James C. Binnicker is scheduled to be held at 9 a.m., Aug. 14 at Arlington National Cemetery, Virginia.
Binnicker died March 21 in Calhoun, Ga.

Thankfully we haven’t had to use them yet, but if we are threatened by a storm, we know how our windows and doors will be protected. We also have the aluminum roll-down shutters for our upstairs windows so we don’t have to crawl around on a steep metal roof before a potential storm.
The Santa Rosa County Board of County Commissioners will host a pre-budget workshop Tuesday, June 9, at 1:30 p.m. in the commission meeting room, 6495 Caroline St. in Milton. The meeting offers the board and other constitutional officers an opportunity to ask questions and discuss issues that may impact the upcoming 2015-16 budget, which runs on a fiscal year of Oct. 1 to Sept. 30.
