The trial of attempted murder suspect John Marshall Fitzgerald, 60, ended in a mistrial Friday, Aug. 19 after the jury could not reach an agreement. The case will be retried in the coming weeks.
Thomas Ross Kindinger, age 25, of The Reserve Apartments in Gulf Breeze has been arrested on charges of arson from the State Fire Marshal’s Office relating to a fire at the apartment community in the early morning hours of Aug. 5. Jon Moore, spokesperson for the State Fire Marshal’s office also confirmed that Kindinger is an active duty member of the U.S. Air Force stationed at Hurlburt Field. On behalf of the 1st Special Operations Wing at Hurlburt Field, Lt. Pienkowski in the Public Affairs Office said, “The 1st Special Operations Wing is aware of the charges brought against SSgt Kindinger, but does not comment on open investigations.”
