Tallahassee – As cities and counties across the state debate the issue, the Florida Senate on Apr. 16 passed a bill that would prevent local governments from adding fluoride to water supplies.
The SMP (Senior Medicare Patrol) program offers volunteers an opportunity to make an important difference in their communities. Volunteers take pride in working to ensure that the Medicare program will be protected for future generations. In 2020, the SMP projects had a total of 5,720 total active team members who conducted 9,870 group outreach and education events, reaching an estimated 425,103 people. In addition, the projects had 249,134 individual interactions with, or on behalf of, a Medicare beneficiary.
