Navarre’s first game of the 2025 football season will look a little different this year.


The Raiders are playing their “home” opener on the field of their biggest rival as they are set to battle Pensacola Catholic tonight at Dolphin Stadium in Gulf Breeze.

Jaya McDonald and Taylor Netro head up a Navarre girls golf team aiming to have a successful season.


McDonald was a regional qualifier as a freshman. Netro is a junior with no shortage of experience on the course either.

Kaleb Nobles said he likes what he has seen out of his University of West Florida football team heading into the 2025 season.


And the Argos are ready to get another year going, opening next Friday night against Lenoir-Rhyne at PenAir Field.

There were moments Wednesday night, especially in the second set, where the smiles grew wide, the cheering got loud, and the momentum was right there for the taking against rival Gulf Breeze.


Navarre was within a few points of the Dolphins a few times but could never quite get over the hump as the Raiders dropped their season opener in three sets to the 2024 6A state runner-up.

Navarre’s boys golf team has a good deal of experience heading into the 2025 season.


Leading the way is Logun Toney, who didn’t golf last season but was with the Raiders as a freshman and sophomore.

Navarre will be playing its first home game of the season on the road.


Due to field issues at Bennett C. Russell Stadium, the Raiders’ game against Pensacola Catholic on Friday is set to be played at Gulf Breeze. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
