Sea turtle nesting season in Florida runs from springtime through the end of October. In Northwest Florida, the season officially starts May 1 and ends Oct. 31.
The 2025 nesting season brought 18 nests, a high number for Navarre Beach, but mixed results overall.

Strokes have become a major health issue in Northwest Florida.
The Pensacola area, to include Escambia and Santa Rosa Counties, have stroke victim rates far exceeding state and national averages. In 2024, Escambia County had 75 deaths from stroke per 100,000 population and Santa Rosa County wasn’t far behind with 67.6.
