Health care reform hits home

Health insurance has doubled for Santa Rosa County resident Steve Holloway and many others across the state in the wake of America’s health care reform. U.S. Congressman Jeff Miller, a vocal opponent of the Affordable Care Act, has heard from many local constituents with stories similar to Holloway, experiencing premium increases or policy cancellations.

Politics starts from the bottom up, not the top down.  Lawmakers in Washington are elected by the people and have a responsibility to the people.  It is an immense honor and privilege for me to represent the people of Florida’s First Congressional District, and it is absolutely vital that I have the opportunity to hear from them so that I can ensure that Northwest Florida’s voice is heard in the halls of Congress.  One message that I continue to receive loud and clear from constituents in all parts of Northwest Florida is opposition to and concern about Obamacare.

The Navarre Beach Chamber of Commerce will host the 19th annual Christmas in the Park celebration Saturday Dec. 7 from 1-6 p.m. The event will feature Christmas related festivities and a Christmas Parade from 2:30-3:30 p.m., which will begin near the Navarre Public Library and run South down Presidio Street to end near Esplanade Street
