Chamber to name new CEO this week

The Navarre Beach Area Chamber of Commerce will soon have a new President/CEO — and they already know who they want to lead the organization. However, the news must wait a bit longer before an official announcement can be made.

Navarre Cross Country teams finish 4th in Mosley

The early bird gets the worm — or at least runs very well in cross country meets.  The Raiders had to board a bus at 4:30 a.m. for the 90-minute trek to their meet last Saturday.  Despite the early travel time, the Navarre High boys and girls cross country team both finished fourth in the 5th Annual Mosley Dolphin Dash held in Lynn Haven, just outside of Panama City. 

Run for the Reef coming October 13

Dust off your running shoes and get ready for the Navarre Beach Marine Sanctuary’s “Run for the Reef,” a 5K for adults and 1 mile fun run for kids that will raise money for the artificial snorkeling and diving reefs and related improvements at Navarre Beach Park.

Navarre woman caught in forgery, theft scheme

A Navarre woman who was trusted with money for a nonprofit organization has been charged with larceny by the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office after it was discovered that she had been stealing money from the Friends of the Mary Esther Library.

Commissioners change contract proposal ranking system

Santa Rosa County has revised their proposal selection process in the wake of a lawsuit filed against the county to keep commissioners from reselecting the Navarre Beach Pier management contract.  The board unanimously approved the change at its regular meeting last Thursday.
