Navarre Chamber announces summer concert series

The Navarre Beach Area Chamber of Commerce has announced the lineup for the 2014 Thursdays in the Park Summer Concert Series, co-sponsored by Navarre Press. Film features Navarre scenes

About 30 to 40 percent of the shots in Steven McMillan’s newest feature film, “The Downtime” were filmed on location in Navarre last summer. The film features three Pensacola residents Brandon Clarkson, Sara Nicole Storm and Paul Myers.

Pier bar reopening March 14

In celebration of Mardi Gras, the new Navarre Fishing Pier management team served beer and wine and hosted live entertainment on the deck Feb. 22. The group plans to reopen the pier bar March 14 after facing weather-related and other unexpected delays, including demolition of the previous bar by the former pier operator.

Gulf Breeze Chamber selects new exec

A local resident and chamber of commerce enthusiast – Kristen Loera – will begin leading the Gulf Breeze Area Chamber of Commerce tomorrow. The chamber’s board of directors announced Loera’s selection Feb. 20. Loera replaces Josie Cotti, who announced her resignation from the chamber in January.
