Eglin Air Force Base, Fla. — Much like local beach community police prepare for their “busy” season in the summer, the Range police officers prepare for the increased range activity as their “peak” season begins this week.
Whitmire Cemetery is the resting place for many respectable, Pensacola families and their loved ones and is located near Olive Baptist Church. According to Jacquelyn Wilson, a local historian of the area and Archivist/Historian for the University of West Florida Historic Trust, “Whitmire cemetery is a public cemetery on Whitmire Road in the Ferry Pass area of Pensacola. This cemetery was set up in the early 1900s by a local family so that there would be a community burial ground.”
The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office has arrested 16 individuals following an undercover cyber-sex sting operation named Operation Wolf Hunter. The sting was conducted in conjunction with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, several state law enforcement agencies, and the US Marshal Service Fugitive Task Force, all members of the North Florida Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

Area churches, authors and singers joined in to celebrate the 2nd annual Joyfest in Navarre Park on Saturday. Julie Condon, owner of Saltwater Cottage in Navarre and Vierra, FL was the brainchild behind Joyfest, which is named after her Aunt Joy. “She was such a giving person and didn’t have any children of her own. She made all of her nieces and nephews feel like they were her favorite,” Condon said when remembering her Aunt that inspired Joyfest.
