Out and About

I am not oblivious to the part that my industry played in perpetuating the narrative. Essentially, they didn’t want Trump to be president and they wanted to do anything and everything in their power to make that happen. They made it difficult for him to get anything done. They were happy to obliterate their journalistic ethics. Basically, hiding behind the mantel of “journalism,” they became advocates for doing whatever it took to unseat our duly elected president, which is disgraceful – to say the least. It was definitely anti-American.
And to top it off, The Washington Post and The New York Times were awarded $15,000 in a joint prize when they won the 2018 Pulitzer Prize for their reporting of Trump’s alleged collusion with Russia. The narrative from the judges explaining why they won the “Pulitzer” stated they received the award “for deeply sourced, relentlessly reported coverage in the public interest that dramatically furthered the nation’s understanding of Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election and its connections to the Trump campaign, the President-elect’s transition team and his eventual administration.” Who were their “deep sources?” Other media? Perhaps their sources were others that dislike Trump. We can certainly agree that it was relentlessly reported. According to “The Media Research Center,” between Jan. 20, 2017 and March 21, 2019 network news coverage (ABC, CBS, NBC) gave up 2,284 minutes on coverage, or three minutes per day for 791 days and 92 percent of all their news coverage of President Trump has been negative. This is just network news, not cable news with CNN and MSNBC or print media. Do these “Pulitzer Prize” journalists remain Pulitzer Prize winning journalists since they won based on untruths?
I have an idea…perhaps these same national “journalists” can “deeply source and relentlessly report” on the accomplishments of the Trump administration. The Oval Office managed to still do great things, even with the “collusion” cloud hanging over their heads. We have been wanting to run a list of accomplishments to date which include our phenomenal economic growth, unprecedented job growth, unemployment claims at a 50-year low, 4 million people off food stamps, increased employment wages – and more. These are the highlights a lot of our media outlets are not reporting – because they don’t want Trump to win. Even so, he has stayed focused on his campaign promises and he is winning, now more than ever.
