But we all know Veteran’s Day is more than just a day off work or free meals. Living in a very supportive military community we may tend to take for granted our veterans because we work with them, we may even live with them. This is a day to thank all living military personnel who served in all branches of service for the sacrifices they have made and continue to make to protect the freedoms that we all enjoy due to their selfless service to our country. Veterans Day falls annually on Nov.11 because this is the anniversary of the signing of the armistice, which ended WWI between the Allied nations and Germany in 1918. President Woodrow Wilson proclaimed that this would be a day, “filled with solemn pride in the heroism of those who died in the country’s service and with gratitude for the victory.”
Hopefully, in the very near future, we will be having a tell-all (or most) story about a WWI soldier that lived in Navarre…right Jon Crider?
Last week we said “see you later” to Laura Daugette, our bookkeeper and advertising admin of five years. She is starting her own business in Pensacola, a franchise called “Faster Labs.” We know she is going to be awesome because she survived us – for five years. Anyone that works here for five years will be awesome wherever they go. And, we are happy to announce that we found an awesome new bookkeeper, Cheryl Middleton. The cartoon to the left of this column was drawn by production manager, Dickie Williams. He has utilized his talent for several other of our team members and it is one of our paid services. Just FYI – Christmas is coming…

Quote of the Week: Patience serves as a protection against wrongs as clothes do against cold. For if you put on more clothes as the cold increases, it will have no power to hurt you. So in like manner you must grow in patience when you meet with great wrongs, and they will then be powerless to vex your mind. Leonardo da Vinci Italian engineer, painter, & sculptor (1452 – 1519)
