Opinion, Out and About

Out and About

| Sandi Kemp
Thanksgiving is two weeks from the date of this paper, and we have been planning the Thanksgiving paper for weeks. It is going to be a lot of fun with puzzles and games for the entire family as well as the news and information you expect and should expect from us. That being said, I have to say I apologize we do not have more information on the double murder and suicide that happened on election night.

It isn’t for lack of trying. I don’t believe it had anything to do with the election, but I do know who was murdered and so do a lot of other people. Many are waiting for us to write the story because there is literally no information for those of us who know the deceased parents who were also grandparents. The sheriff did release information that it was a 52-year-old son that murdered his parents, but the sheriff’s office has yet to release any other information. There are at least two sons that fit that description. I know one of the sons and I left him a voicemail and sent a text message asking him to contact us and he has not. It isn’t fair to the other son(s), and if I was the son that was planning three funerals, I would contact us and let us know it wasn’t him. I’ve been told by people who should know that it was son A, and then the same day another person said a friend of theirs spoke with son A and he was planning three funerals. We aren’t going to release any information until we have the most important information. A son killing his parents is not just a domestic violence case which is very common. The killing of parents is called parricide and is one of the rarest types of murder. Studies show most perpetrators of parricide are sons, are psychotic, and use violent methods to murder the victims according to a thesis paper submitted to a school of criminology I read to try to understand what the heck is going on. As I told someone else, it doesn’t make sense and if it did, there is something wrong with us. If you can figure out “crazy” then maybe you are one – or a psychologist. Perhaps there is an on-going investigation and that is why we haven’t heard any more. However, it would be helpful to those of us who knew the now deceased if we knew what happened and which son murdered his parents.

I’m very happy we had a very decisive election. The next morning (Wednesday) I went to a donut shop to buy donuts for the office at 9:15 a.m. and they were sold out. They said it was a record for them. I guess people were celebrating with donuts. I play a little bit with the stock market and day trade with my Robinhood app, and I made $500 last week. I hope my new friend I met at the water department last week has seen an upswing in those wanting floors done. I need new floors at my house, and I’m definitely going to get a quote from his company. And nationally, within 72-hours of the 2024 election, the first female Chief of Staff was appointed, NYC stopped giving debit cards to illegals, Companies in the USA started the process of brining production home where it should have been anyway, the stock market hit an all-time high, the newest migrant caravan shrunk to half its original size, Qatar agrees to evict Hamas leaders, Hamas wants “immediate” end to war, Taliban claims to want “new chapter,” the European Union wants to buy our gas, not Russian gas, Ukraine leaders are in talks with Trump and Elon Musk, and more. These are all very positive outcomes and whether you are a Democrat or a Republican – they should all be celebrated. However, it took the election of Donald Trump for all the positive things to happen. Good leadership matters – a lot.
